Auckland is a multi-cultural city, and the Big Foody tour gives guests the opportunity to experience its incredible culinary scene.
- Built on top of 48 volcanoes and nestled between 2 harbours, Auckland is home to some incredible seafood, delicious produce and spectacular wineries.
- The Big Foody tours aim to show visitors the very best of this remarkable city through their taste buds. Elle Armon-Jones started the company as a way to introduce guests to food artisans, brewers, vineyard owners and producers.
- The Tastebud tour is the company’s signature tour – a 4hr driven tour that hits many of the best locations around the city, including the Auckland Fish Markets, chocolatiers, cafes, artisan producers and more.
- The first stop is the Boric Food Market. Nurtured for 3 generations, it has been a local favourite for decades, evolving from a roadside fruit stall to the thriving business it is today.
- Sabato is one of the most popular stores for the chefs in the region, known for its fantastic range of cheeses.
- The home of the Big Foody, the Vineyard Cottages are just a short scenic drive out of the city. Surrounded by stunning native flora and fauna, seven settler-style cottages lie peacefully within the grounds.
- While at the Cottages, Elle transforms the produce purchased into a delicious meal, teaching guests about the food in the greater Auckland region.
- Situated on the corner of Queen and Wyndham Street, Little Culprit is a cosy and sophisticated venue – the perfect place to slow down and sip on some delicious cocktails.
- It doesn’t matter what tour you do with the Big Foody – it really is the perfect way to get a feel for Auckland and its truly amazing food scene.
