- The winery is named after the Flametree, a native tree to the area which only flowers when all conditions come together, and the team likens this to the fact that all conditions have to come together to make a great wine.

- Flametree is about style and structure, perfume and elegance that goes with modern food trends.
- The Jimmy Watson Trophy was awarded to Flametree for their red wine, in their first year at the Melbourne Food and Wine show which really put Flametree wines on the map.
- Flametree wines like to use the large format Oak barrels for their Chardonnay as they find with the large format oak barrels it makes cleaner, finer, tighter wines which suits the Chardonnay they are making from the Wallcliff region.
- In 2017, Flametree won best wine in the Perth Royal Show out of 2000 wines with their Chardonnay.
- The awards are possible thanks to the Royal Agricultural Society of WA, a not for profit organisation helping us all identify the best in the West.
