Last week we had a blinder of a morning snuffling around in the dirt discovering some nuggets of God-like goodness. But did you know of the forest comes a very tidy looking winery and restaurant?

  • Today Scott speaks with Restaurant Manager, Stuart, and there’s not much he doesn’t know about matching truffle and wine.
  • What they do here at the Truffle & Wine Co. is find wines that compliments the flavours of the truffles. You don’t want the wine dominating and you don’t want the food dominating. What you want is a harmony of flavours, which really accentuates both parts.
  • The Truffle & Wine Co. have been at it since 2001. They have vines on the estate and also source grapes off local farmers, but essentially our wines are definitely made to compliment our truffles.
  • People travel from all over the world to come and dine at the truffle restaurant, it’s one of the only places in the world you can actually go straight from paddock to plate, go on a hunt, sit yourself down, have a beautiful lunch and finish it off with some wines.
  • Scott has a sit down with the wine and the dish that highlights both the truffle and the wine the most. The truffles really do elevate the taste experience, which makes you understand why these cool little fungi have such a mythical status in the world.
